The State Netball Association has banned Muslim girls from wearing headscarves while they play, effectively forcing them from competition.
The girls, from City West Netball Club, have said they were uncomfortable playing without their scarves.
But State Netball Association President Sharon Ball, has denied she is racist.
“It is a question of equity – one rule for all,” she said. “These girls should not be forced to cover up.”
I would also interview:
- A politician from the opposition for balance.
- A local council manager for Parks and Recreation, as they govern over local sporting leagues.
- One of the Muslim girls, as long as she was accompanied by a guardian.
