Prime Minister Robert Lang is confident his party will be re-elected with an increased majority at the next election.
At a press conference in Melbourne yesterday, Mr Lang said the “disarray of the opposition”, was a reason for his confidence.
“I’m confident that we will increase our majority by at least 10 seats,” Mr Lang said.
Community Services Minister Mr Williams, yesterday announced a $16 million new prison remand centre for Melbourne.
The plan was announced at a press conference at Parliament House.
Portrait artist Terence Philby said previous winners of the Hendrix Prize for Portraiture were “dull and orthodox”, at the launch of his exhibition in Carlton last night.
Mr Philby said “truly creative work” was being ignored.
John Beaumont said he was “framed by the cops”, from the dock of the Victorian County Court after being sentenced to 25 years gaol.
Mr Beaumont was convicted for stabbing a security guard last June.
“I’m innocent,” he said.
